Woodstock, ON (July 20, 2021)

 

THEFT OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER

Sometime between Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. and Friday, July 16, 2021 at 7:45 a.m. an unknown suspect allegedly stole a catalytic converter from a white GMC Savana in the area of Ingersoll Avenue near Main Street.

STOLEN VEHICLES

On Friday, July 16, 2021 at approximately 12:05 a.m. three females observed a suspicious vehicle occupied by two males. The females saw the vehicle move and park in multiple locations in the area of Edinburg Drive and Thompson Street. The females warned the males that police had been contacted and the males left the area on foot. Police confirmed the suspicious vehicle the males had occupied had been reported stolen out of Peel Region.

On Friday, July 16, 2021 at approximately 12:05 p.m. a white 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan used for package delivery was reportedly stolen while the driver was delivering a package in the area of Arthur Parker Avenue. The van contained approximately 79 packages yet to be delivered.

Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle, but the vehicle continued to drive away at a high rate of speed into Innerkip, ON.

As a result of these investigations, on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at approximately 11:45 a.m. police arrested Gurvir GREWAL (26) of Brampton, ON. The accused has been charged with:

  • Criminal Harassment
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order
  • Flight from Peace Officer
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle Taken Without Consent
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Driving While Under Suspension

The accused was held in custody.

 

STOLEN VEHICLE

Sometime between 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021 a black 2013 Cadillac CTS was allegedly stolen from a driveway on Canrobert Street.

STOLEN VEHICLE ARREST

On Thursday, July 15, 2021 at approximately 1:50 p.m. the Woodstock Police Service responded to the area of Buller St. for reports of a suspicious person in a vehicle in the area. The investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported as stolen.

As a result, a 35-year-old male of Woodstock was arrested and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.

IMPAIRED DRIVERS

On Saturday, July 17, 2021 at approximately 10:05 p.m. police observed a male driver squealing tires and driving without headlights on in the area of Bay Street and Peel Street. The driver was listed as a suspended driver and wanted by the OPP for impaired driving.

During the interaction with the driver police suspected the male to be impaired. As a result of the investigation, the 22-year-old male driver of Norwich, ON was arrested and charged with:

  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Driving While Under Suspension

 

On Saturday, July 17, 2021 at approximately 10:45 p.m., the Woodstock Police Service responded to a business in the area of Norwich Avenue and Juliana Drive for a shopper suspected to be impaired causing a disturbance, then leaving the store driving at a high rate of speed.

Police stopped the vehicle in the area of Wilson Street near Hounsfield Street. The male driver provided a breath sample nearly double the legal limit.

As a result, a 31-year-old male of Woodstock, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

 

MISCHIEFS

On Friday, July 16, 2021 at approximately 7:20 p.m. the Woodstock Police Service responded to the area of Bain Street for reports of a male and female breaking into a vehicle with a crowbar. Minutes later, police observed the male and female in the area of Duke Street and arrested both following a foot pursuit.

A 33-year-old female of Woodstock was charged with:

  • Failure to Comply with Release order
  • Mischief Under $5000

A 37-year-old male of Woodstock was charged with:

  • Failure to Comply with Release Order
  • Mischief Under $5000
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order

 

On Sunday, July 18, 2021 at approximately 12:30 p.m. the Woodstock Police Service responded to a report of a mischief sometime overnight. Unknown suspect(s) allegedly entered a camping trailer in the area of Longworth Lane and attempted to remove copper wire from the trailer causing damage.

THEFTS

Sometime between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021 and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2021 unknown suspect(s) allegedly stole a four foot concrete dragon from the front yard of a residence on Victoria Street North.

 

Sometime between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021 a dark green men’s Giant Mountain Bike was allegedly stolen from the area of Dundas Street near Kent Street.

 

Sometime on Thursday, July 16, 2021 unknown suspect(s) allegedly stole three packages from a front porch in the area of Burtch Street near Main Street.
