POLICE BRIEFS – June 17, 2022
WOODSTOCK, ON (June 20, 2022)
ATTEMPTED BREAK & ENTER
On Friday, June 17, 2022 the Woodstock Police Service responded to reports of an overnight attempted break and enter a building on Dundas Street between McKenzie Avenue and Clarke Street North. As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old male was charged with:
- Attempt – Break & Enter with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
- Mischief Under $5000
On Friday, June 17, 2022 at approximately 10:00 a.m. two male suspects reportedly entered a store on Dundas Street near Clarke Street N and stole several bottles of alcohol. The males were observed driving a reportedly stolen white, four door, Ford Fiesta with a Ontario Parks decal on the driver’s side. Their last known direction was east bound on Dundas Street. The suspects are described as:
- White male, approximately 5’9”, 200 lbs
- Late 30s to early 40s
- Blading with a shaved tanned head
- Wearing black sweater, hoodie with a white squared patterned marking on it, tan shorts, black shoes, white socks and camouflage face covering
- White male, approximately 5’8”, 170 lbs, in his 30s
- Wearing a red hate with white lettering “Instructor” writing above the brim, long sleeve black shirt, darker camouflage shorts, running shoes and camouflage face covering
On Friday, June 17, 2022 sometime between 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. an e-bike that was parked in front of a store on Norwich Avenue between Parkinson Road and Montclair Drive was reportedly stolen.
The e-bike was described as a red and white EMMO E-bike with a blue front light.
VEHICLE ENTRY THEFT
On Friday, June 17, 2022 at approximately 1:20 p.m. a vehicle parked in a parking lot on Huron Street near Knightsbridge Road was reportedly entered and a black Samsung A52-5G cell phone was stolen from the vehicle.
On Friday, June 17, 2022 between 3:30-3:45 p.m. a young female walking home from school was reportedly stopped by unknown people in a vehicle on the corner of Springbank Avenue and Cree Avenue who said “I’m friends with your mom and she asked me to pick you up.”
The young female began running home. As the vehicle drove by her, the passenger in the suspect vehicle reportedly stated “You’re lucky this time 13 year old.”
The vehicle was described as a red dodge caravan with dark black flames and dark red outline. The driver of the vehicle was described as a white male with short blue hair and the passenger was described as a white female with split coloured hair, half black, half blue.
Police encourage parents to regularly discuss safety planning with their children and remind them to walk in groups whenever possible, avoid speaking with strangers and seek help from a trusted adult.
On Friday, June 17, 2022 the Woodstock Police Service responded to reports of a suspected impaired driver. Once the vehicle was located, the investigation revealed the male was not impaired at the time, however the 50-year-old male driver was charged with Driving While Under Suspension.
