STUNT DRIVER

Woodstock, ON (January 6, 2021) – Woodstock Police charge stunt driver for driving double the speed limit.

On Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at approximately 12:30 a.m. while conducting RADAR traffic enforcement, a Woodstock Police Service officer stopped a 34-year-old male driver who was travelling 120 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.

The driver was charged with Stunt Driving and Fail to Surrender Licence under the Highway Traffic Act. The vehicle was towed, the driver’s licence has been suspended for 7 days and the driver is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The Woodstock Police Service would like to remind all drivers of the responsibility of driving safely at all hours of the day or night.

 

HIT AND RUN

Woodstock, ON (January 6, 2021) – The Woodstock Police Service is looking for any information about a hit and run that occurred Tuesday evening.

On Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at approximately 5:15 p.m., the Woodstock Police Service responded to a report of a head on collision where the suspect vehicle fled the scene. The collision took place in the area of Riddell Street near Grace Street. The suspect vehicle was observed traveling southbound on Riddell Street then eastbound on Grace Street.

The suspect vehicle was described as a grey Volkswagen Jetta occupied by a driver and passenger, both described as young males.
