Woodstock, ON – The Woodstock Police Service responded to a call involving an individual in crisis on the morning of May 25, 2026, which led to a police investigation at a residence in the city. Information received during the call indicated the presence of weapons, resulting in a significant police response in the area of Parkinson Road, Fyfe Avenue, and Pavey Street.
Out of an abundance of caution, College Avenue Secondary School was placed in a shelter-in-place while officers responded and assessed the situation. The shelter-in-place was later lifted, and there was no ongoing risk to public safety.
Woodstock Police Service Uniform Patrol, Emergency Response Unit, and Criminal Investigations Branch members conducted an investigation, executed a search warrant at a residence on Fyfe Avenue, and seized multiple weapons, including eight firearms, several knives, and firearm accessories.
As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old male from Woodstock has been charged with:
- Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Breach of Firearms Regulations – Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date.
