Woodstock, ON – Four separate impaired driving investigations over a four-day period have resulted in charges against four individuals, highlighting the ongoing risks posed by impaired driving in our community.
May 28, 2026
Shortly before 10:45 p.m., the Woodstock Police Service received a report of a suspected impaired driver. Officers located the vehicle a short time later in the area of Frizelle Drive and commenced an investigation.
As a result, a 22-year-old Woodstock man was charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80 mg
- Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with an Unsealed Container of Liquor
- Having Care or Control of a Vehicle with Cannabis in Open Baggage

At approximately 4:15 a.m., officers responded to a report of an unconscious individual in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle parked in a lot on Dundas Street.
Officers located the vehicle and found the driver asleep behind the wheel. During the investigation, a small quantity of suspected fentanyl was located, and the driver was subsequently evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).
As a result, a 65-year-old Woodstock man was charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance

Shortly before 11:00 p.m., the Woodstock Police Service received a report of a possible impaired driver in the area of Dundas Street.
Officers located the vehicle a short time later and administered an Approved Screening Device test, which resulted in a ‘Fail’.
As a result, a 37-year-old Tillsonburg woman was charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80 mg

At approximately 2:25 p.m., an off-duty Woodstock Police Service officer observed a motorcyclist in the Roth Park area who appeared to be impaired. The officer observed the rider repeatedly lose control of the motorcycle and fall several times while attempting to operate it.
Responding officers attended the area and located the suspect a short time later.
As a result, a 37-year-old man was charged with:
- Operation While Impaired
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration Over 80 mg
Subsequent breath testing revealed the accused’s blood alcohol concentration was more than three times the legal limit.
All four accused individuals were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock at a later date.
In each case, driver’s licences were suspended, and vehicles were impounded in accordance with Ontario’s Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) program and applicable provincial legislation.
These four investigations in four days serve as a reminder that impaired driving remains a significant threat to public safety. Whether impairment is caused by alcohol, drugs, or a combination of both, choosing to get behind the wheel puts lives at risk.
