Woodstock, ON – Following numerous complaints from members of the public regarding suspected drug use and trafficking, particularly in and around Woodstock’s downtown core, the Woodstock Police Service has conducted a series of enforcement initiatives resulting in multiple arrests, charges and drug seizures.
On Thursday, July 2, 2026, members of the Woodstock Police Service Street Crimes Unit arrested two males in the area of Dundas Street and Marlboro Street.
As a result of the arrests, police seized:
- Approximately 1.8 grams of suspected crack cocaine
- Approximately 12.6 grams of suspected fentanyl, representing an estimated 126 potentially lethal doses
- $1,067.25 in Canadian currency
- A digital scale
A 37-year-old male has been charged with:
- Trafficking a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Fentanyl (Two Counts)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Failure to Comply with a Probation Order (Two Counts)
A 52-year-old male has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine.
On Friday, July 10, 2026, the Woodstock Police Service conducted a targeted enforcement initiative in the downtown core in response to ongoing complaints regarding open-air drug use.
Members of the Street Crimes Unit, with assistance from Uniform Patrol, arrested several individuals for alleged possession of Schedule I substances. Additional Criminal Code charges were laid, and Provincial Offence Notices were issued.
Police also seized several items associated with the consumption of controlled substances, including glass pipes and foil.
On Sunday, July 12, 2026, members of Uniform Patrol were conducting checks at businesses in the downtown core when they encountered a group of individuals loitering on private property.
One male, who was known to police, was arrested on an outstanding warrant held by another police service. During a subsequent search, officers located approximately 8.9 grams of suspected fentanyl, representing an estimated 89 potentially lethal doses.
A 33-year-old male has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Failure to Comply with a Probation Order.
On Monday, July 13, 2026, a citizen turned over property they had located in the downtown core.
The property included approximately 7.6 grams of suspected fentanyl, representing an estimated 76 potentially lethal doses, as well as a folding knife.
