Woodstock, ON – On Friday, July 31, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Woodstock Police Service responded to a driving complaint involving a vehicle allegedly travelling at an extremely high rate of speed and nearly striking a pedestrian.
Officers located the vehicle in the area of Adelaide Street and Victoria Street North and conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation, the driver was administered a roadside screening test and registered a “Fail.”
The driver was arrested. As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old male has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)
- Dangerous Operation
- Common Nuisance – Endangering Life
On Friday, July 31, 2026, at approximately 10:20 p.m., a Woodstock Police Service officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Sixth Avenue and St. Andrews Road after observing a vehicle being operated inconsistently with road conditions.
The driver was administered a roadside screening test and registered a “Fail.”
As a result of the investigation, a 72-year-old male of South River has been charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)
- Dangerous Operation
Both accused individuals were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
On Thursday, July 30, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m., an officer on Peel Street observed a motorcyclist commit a traffic infraction and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The motorcycle failed to stop, and a pursuit was not initiated due to concerns for public safety.
Through the investigation, police identified the alleged rider and located the motorcycle at a Woodstock residence.
On Friday, July 31, 2026, at approximately 7 p.m., police attended the residence and arrested the accused.
As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old male of Woodstock has been charged with:
- Flight from a Peace Officer
- Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Failure to Comply with a Probation Order
- Driving While Under Suspension
- Drive Motor Vehicle – No Plates
- Disobey Stop Sign – Fail to Stop
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
