The Woodstock Police Service Communications Centre operates as a Primary Public Safety Answering point. This means all 9-1-1 calls made within Oxford County are routed through the WPS Call Centre first.
The Communication Centre dispatches for both the Woodstock Police Service and Woodstock Fire Department. Calls are then dispatched to WPS officers, WFD fire fighters or transferred to the appropriate Communications Centre for other services (i.e. Ontario Provincial Police, paramedic services, etc).
The Communications Centre is made up of one supervisor, ten full time and six part time call takers/dispatchers, who are responsible for handling the tens of thousands of phone calls from the public each year.
