The Media Relations Officer (MRO) serves as the official spokesperson for the Woodstock Police Service and the primary liaison between WPS and the news media. The MRO oversees public communications — providing timely updates and safety information, coordinating news releases, managing social media, and ensuring all information shared complies with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), the Community Safety and Policing Act, and the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Whenever possible, WPS shares information about major incidents, emergencies, and developing news through media releases and posts on our website, Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and YouTube.
Information is always released with careful consideration for public safety, privacy, and investigative integrity.
