Woodstock, ON – Woodstock Police Service has charged a 28-year-old male following two separate incidents that occurred on January 13, 2026, in the City of Woodstock.
On January 13, 2026, police were contacted by a driving instructor who reported that an unknown male entered the driver’s seat of his vehicle and attempted to take it while it was parked on Graham Street. The victim was able to remove the keys from the ignition and exit the vehicle before it could be driven away. The male then attempted to damage the vehicle and fled the area.
Later that morning, police responded to a report of a male operating an excavator at a construction site near Brock Street. The excavator was moved before being left unsecured by the male.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old male from Woodstock was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Robbery with Theft
- Theft Over $5,000
- Mischief Under $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
