Woodstock, ON – As part of the ongoing investigation under Project IONIQ, the Woodstock Police Service has arrested and charged a 35-year-old man and recovered two stolen motorcycles.
On Friday, August 28, 2026, at approximately 4:00 a.m., members of the Woodstock Police Service Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at an address in London in connection with an investigation into stolen motorcycles.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested a 35-year-old man, who has been charged with:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Operation While Prohibited
- Failure to Comply with Release Order
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police recovered two stolen motorcycles, including one reported stolen from Woodstock and one reported stolen from London, as well as various motorcycle parts.
The investigation was led by the Woodstock Police Service’s dedicated Auto Theft Investigator, a specialized position established in response to the growing complexity of vehicle theft and vehicle fraud investigations.
The dedicated role strengthens the Service’s ability to identify crime trends, develop intelligence, coordinate investigations across jurisdictions, recover stolen vehicles and target individuals involved in vehicle-related crime.
Project IONIQ remains an ongoing investigation focused on identifying, investigating and disrupting vehicle theft and related offences.
