The Digital Evidence Management Services (DEMS) Unit securely manages all digital evidence collected by the Woodstock Police Service. This includes photos, videos, audio, documents, and other electronic files from investigations, public submissions, and partner agencies.
DEMS ensures that all evidence is stored, organized, and disclosed in accordance with legal and evidentiary standards, maintaining integrity, confidentiality, and a complete chain of custody.
DEMS is responsible for:
- Receiving and processing digital evidence from officers, other police services, and the public.
- Preparing and disclosing evidence to the Crown Attorney’s Office and authorized agencies.
- Providing technical support and ensure secure digital storage and transfer.
- Maintaining accurate records and audit trails for all digital evidence.
