IMPAIRED DRIVER
WOODSTOCK, ON (July 23, 2024) – 48-year-old driver blows four and a half times the legal limit yesterday afternoon.
On Monday, July 22, 2024 at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Woodstock Police Service responded to several reports of a suspected impaired driver swerving all over the road. Police located the driver and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, at which time the driver proceeded through a red light.
Police stopped and arrested the driver for impaired driving. The investigation revealed the driver had four and a half times the legal limit of alcohol in their system.
As a result, the 48-year-old driver, of Woodstock, is facing the following charges:
- One count of operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and
- One count of operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
In addition to these charges, the driver is facing a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and 7 day vehicle impound.
