The Youth In Policing Initiative (YIPI) offers full time summer employment with WPS for youth 15 to 18 years old who live in Woodstock.
About the YIPI Program
The goal of the Youth in Policing Initiative is to inspire young people to look at the many different aspects of policing and to empower students to become ambassadors of positive change in the City of Woodstock.
Students hired for the YIPI program will engage in productive activities in a safe and healthy environment. These activities include work and mentorship in various sections of the Woodstock Police Service, developing a working relationship with a number of youth organizations in Woodstock, and supporting community initiatives, all while learning valuable life and employment skills.
The Youth in Policing Initiative runs in partnership with the Ministry of Children and Community and Social Services. The YIPI program along with youthconnect.ca, is part of an effort to coordinate program information and access services, for youth across Ontario.
