Special Constable - Court Security

The Woodstock Police Service is accepting applications from internal and external applicants for the position of:

PART-TIME SPECIAL CONSTABLE – COURT SECURITY

Duties:

Search and secure individuals in custody. Screen and scan entry into the Courthouse. Prisoner transportation to and from court, correctional facilities and other police agencies. Serve court documents as required. Complete fingerprinting and process other judicial orders as needed.

The position requires the person to have good interpersonal and verbal communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure and make effective decisions quickly. Applicants must be self-starters who work effectively as a team member and who support and project values compatible with our organization. This is a part-time position where hours will vary depending on the needs of the Service.

Starting Wage: $29.52 / hr

Minimum Qualifications:

• Grade 12 Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent

• Valid “G” driver’s licence

• Current First Aid/CPR certificate

• One (1) to two (2) years of relevant security experience would be an asset

• Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekends
