Police Record Checks
YOU MUST be a resident of Woodstock to obtain a record check from the Woodstock Police Service.
Police Record Checks can be requested online or in person. Requests can be made 24/7.
Applicants under the age of 18 are not able to use the online process. Applicants under the age of 18 applying for any municipal, provincial or federal government jobs must attend in person at Police Headquarters, 615 Dundas Street, Woodstock with a letter from the requestor. This service is currently not available.
In Person Record Check Requests:
The Woodstock Police Service will continue to accept Record Check Requests in person. Payment options acceptable are cash or debit. Payment is expected at the time the application is made. Record Checks typically take up to 5 business to process. You will be required to pick up your record check with photo ID when it’s been completed. This service is currently not available.
Online Record Check Requests:
The Woodstock Police Service now offers Record Check Requests online. Do NOT use this system if you pay your property taxes to anywhere other than Woodstock.
You will be required to register an account in order to request a record check online. It’s important to record your username and password for future reference. The Woodstock Police Service does not have access to your password.

Refunds are not available once payment has been made. If you apply for an online record check and you live outside the city limits of Woodstock, your request will not be processed.
Results of the record check will be made available online for 31 days from the time you receive an email stating your record check request has been completed. You will be required to login to your account and download your completed request.
If you are applying online for your record check request, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Debit Visa and Interac are acceptable payment methods.
When applying in person, cash and debit are acceptable payment methods.
The fee to process a request for students or volunteers is $20.00. All other requests will be $45.00.
Record Check Levels
The Woodstock Police Service offers three levels of record checks:
- Level 1 - Criminal Record Check (CRC)
- This type of record check will include criminal convictions only. It will not include: expired young offender records, discharges, outstanding charges, warrants or current court orders.
- Level 2 - Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
- This type of record check will include criminal convictions, discharges, current charges, warrants and court orders.
- This type of record check does NOT include negative police contacts or a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Level 3 - Vulnerable Sector Search (VSC)
- This type of record check will include criminal convictions, discharges, current charges, warrants, court orders, exceptional non-conviction charges which may be include a finding of not criminally responsible and a search of the Record Suspension Database for any offences that the Minister if Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness authorizes for release when supported by fingerprints submitted to the R.C.M.P.).
Police Vulnerable Sector Check - Information
By signing the Consent requesting the Vulnerable Sector Screening Check, you give permission to search and determine if you have ever been convicted of a sexual offence for which a pardon has been granted. In the event that you are identified as a POSSIBLE hit based on the your DATE OF BIRTH and GENDER you will be contacted via telephone to advise that your Police Vulnerable Sector Check could not be completed and an appointment to be electronically fingerprinted is required.
As per RCMP guidelines (July 2010), the applicants NAME is not included in the search field and therefore does not factor into the results.
Fingerprints required for EMPLOYMENT will incur a processing fee of $25.00 (cash). The same is a processing fee set forth by the RCMP and is collected by Woodstock Police Service to be forwarded to the Receiver General of Canada.
Fingerprints required for VOLUNTEER do not incur any additional processing fee.

Record Checks are only valid when embossed with the seal of WOODSTOCK POLICE SERVICE.
Applicants will be provided with a pick-up time upon submission of the form. The applicant will be asked to present identification when attending the front office of Woodstock Police Service to take receipt of the completed form. Process time is approximately 3-4 business days provided the Applicant has not lived outside of the City of Woodstock in the past 5 years. If we have to ask additional police services to check their local records, it may take longer.
If the Applicant does not agree with the information on the record check and are not satisfied with the explanation given by the front office clerk, they may submit a letter in writing to the Chief of Police listing their reasons in asking for an appeal.
