The Woodstock Police Service Board welcomes members of the community to speak at its meetings during the Delegation portion of the agenda. This provides individuals or groups an opportunity to address the Board on matters of interest or concern. Whether speaking on behalf of yourself or an organization, your input is valued in shaping the work of the Board.
To address the Board, please submit a written request to the Executive Assistant at least ten (10) business days before the next regular Board meeting. Your request must include a detailed written brief outlining the nature of your presentation, any supporting materials such as slideshows or documentation, and any decision or action you are seeking from the Board. If your request relates to a subject already on the agenda, which is published seven (7) days before the meeting, you may submit your request no later than five (5) business days prior to the meeting.
Presentations are limited to five (5) minutes unless the Board grants additional time. Delegations must appoint one spokesperson to address the Board to ensure clarity and avoid repetition.
If you have not met the notification requirements but still wish to speak, you may advise the Executive Assistant before the meeting. The Board may consider your request with a majority vote from its members. However, certain topics, as outlined in the Community Safety and Policing Act, may only be discussed in closed sessions.
We encourage you to share your perspectives and appreciate your cooperation with these guidelines to ensure a productive and respectful meeting process. For further details or assistance, please see the Board's Proceedings By-Law 01-2024 or contact the Executive Assistant.
